The name Agrostis crinita (L.f.) R.Br. (1810) is given by some sources as a nom. illeg., non (Schreb.) Moench. (1794). However, Moench's earlier name is illegitimate as he cited both Alopecurus monspeliensis L. (1753) and Phleum crinita Schreb. (1769) in synonymy.
