- The origin of this taxon is uncertain. Some authors consider it to be native (e.g. N.G.Walsh, Fl. Victoria 2: 454-455 (1994)) while others treat it as introduced (e.g. S.W.L.Jacobs & K.L.McClay, Fl. New South Wales 4: 591-592 (1993)). Australian populations have sometimes been treated as a separate taxon, K. australiensis (e.g. N.T.Burbidge & M.Gray, Fl. Austral. Cap. Terr. 34 (1970)).
