Bentham's Billardiera coriacea is based on Pronaya latifolia Turcz., but the name was preoccupied by Billardiera latifolia Putt. from 1839. Putterlick's taxon is a distinct species. The lectotypification of Billardiera coriacea Benth. by L.W.Cayzer et al., Austral. Syst. Bot. 17: 108 (2004) using material collected by Oldfield would thus seem to be erroneous, as Turczaninow cited a Drummond specimen as the type of his name.
