This taxon should not be confused with "Comesperma sp. A Kimberley Flora (K.F.Kenneally 9242)", as the Kenneally voucher specimen for this phrase name has been re-identified as C. secundum DC. There are multiple herbarium sheets of different taxa collected from Karungie Station, WA, that are labelled as "D.W.Rust 8". The material on which this Comesperma phrase name is based is PERTH sheet 01854593.
