Hybrids are known with G. dryophylla, G. obtecta and G. lavandulacea. Olde & Marriott ((1995) discussed five informal forms: a 'Grampians (type) form', a 'small-flowered form', a 'norrhern Victorian form', a 'Goldfields form' and a 'Southern Hills form'. It is not clear whether G. dallachiana F.Muell. ex Hazlewood is a validation of G. dallachiana F.Muell., nom. nud., but this seems likely.
