Intermediates/hybrids between C. blakei and C. tessellaris are suspected (Hill & Johnson, 1995). Hybrids between C. tessellaris and C. confertiflora, and between C. tessellaris and C. torelliana, are known (Hill & Johnson, 1995). Hybrids between C. tessellaris and C. papuana ('C. paracolpica') are recorded from Qld (Hill & Johnson, 1995). Hybrids are known in Qld between C. peltata ('C. dimorpha') and C. tessellaris, and between C. leichhardtii and C. tessellaris.
