- Hill & Johnson (1995) recognised C. citriodora and C. variegata as distinct species, but recorded intergrades between them. The two are considered conspecific here. Hybrids are known between both C. watsoniana subsp. watsoniana and subsp. capillata and C. citriodora ('C. variegata') (Hill & Johnson, 1995). Hybrids have been reported between C. bloxsomei and C. citriodora ('C. variegata') in Qld and between C. maculata and C. citriodora ('C. variegata') in NSW (Hill & Johnson, 1995). Hybrids between C. henryi and C. citriodora ('C. variegata') were suspected for NSW by Hill & Johnson (1995).
