The Australian Moss Name Index (AusMoss) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with moss names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. AusMoss does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Showing Racomitrium japonicum
-
APC Dist.: LHI
-
distribution: ?Lord Howe I. -
remarks: Known only from Lord Howe Island from the type of R. leptostomoides J.B.Först. As R. japonicum is otherwise restricted to Japan, south-eastern Siberia, Korea, China and northern Vietnam and the putative collector of the specimen (T.B. Moore) is only known to have collected on Tasmania it is doubtful that the type specimen came from Lord Howe Island (Vitt et al. 1993: 458, 460).
