The Australian Moss Name Index (AusMoss) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with moss names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. AusMoss does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian mosses, please use the Australian Moss Census (AMC) link above.

remarks: This species was synonimised with the mainly Malesian L. javense (Brid.) Mitt. by Enroth (1990a: 76), but this was not accepted by Yamaguchi (1993: 32). Previous Northern Territory records are L. aduncum Dozy & Molk. var. aduncum (Catcheside & Stone 1988: 10, as L. brachyphyllum (Hornsch.) Hampe). Stoneburner et al. (1993) did not confirm Western Australian record (possibly revised to L. subchlorophyllosum).
