The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Comment:The name “Xanthorrhoea johnsonii A.T.Lee ssp. johnsonii” is listed by S.W.L.Jacobs & J.Pickard, Pl. New South Wales 59 (1981), but since no varietal taxa had been validly published in X. johnsonii at the time, this autonym was not established.
