APC Comment: A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 2259 (1991), gives the base name for Phyllostachys nigra as "Bambusa nigra Roemer & Schultes". However Munro refers to Lindley and the Roemer & Schultes name cannot be traced. -
