The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Type:"Plentiful in many parts of New England, N.S.W." (many collections cited).
Etymology:"It is named in honour of Ernest Clayton Andrews, B.A., Geological Surveyor, Department of Mines, New South Wales, who has been giving attention to the flora of New England, particularly as regards the vegetation on various geological formations, and who has made special enquiries in regard to the tree that is now called by his name."
Lectotype:New South Wales. Northern Tablelands: Tingha, 16 October 1903, R.H. Cambage s.n. (lecto: here designated) NSW [NSW 335599]).
Comment:"Maiden did not choose a lectotype for E. andrewsii in his 'Critical Revision of the Genus Eucalyptus', as was asserted by Chippendale (1988)."
