The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Comment:The name “Cynodon incompletus Nees var. incompletus” is listed by J.M.J. de Wet & J.R.Harlan, Crop Sci. (Madison) 10: 291 (1970), B.K.Simon, Techn. Bull. Bot. Branch Dept. Prim. Industr. Queensland 3: 20 (1978), G.M.Cunningham et al., Pl. W. New South Wales 79 (1981) and S.W.L.Jacobs & J.Pickard, Pl. New South Wales 40 (1981), but since no varietal taxa had been validly published in C. incompletus at the time, this autonym was not established.
