Distichostemon phyllopterus var. serrulatus F.Muell. , legitimate, scientific
Mueller, F.J.H. von (1863), Enumeration of the plants collected during Mr. J. Macd. Stuart's expeditions across the Australian continent in 1860, 1861, and 1862. Victoria - Parliamentary Papers- Votes and Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly: 12 [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "Burke's River."
Reynolds, S.T. in George, A.S. (ed.) (25 December 1985), Sapindaceae. Flora of Australia 25: 114 [secondary reference]
  • Type: "Burke R., Qld, collector unknown; n.v."
  • Comment: Mueller's citation of the type locality as "Burke's River" was interpreted by S.T.Reynolds in A.S.George (ed.), Fl. Australia 25: 114 (1985), as Burke River, Queensland. However, since the J.M.Stuart expeditions in 1860–1862 did not cover this area, this appears to be an error, possibly for Burke Creek in the Northern Territory (A.E.Orchard, pers. comm. 2005).
