Alphitonia excelsa (A.Cunn. ex Fenzl) Benth. , legitimate, scientific
Bentham, G. (30 May 1863), Flora Australiensis 1: 414 BHL [comb. nov.]
basionym: Colubrina excelsa A.Cunn. ex Fenzl legitimate
  • Comment: This combination is commonly attributed to S.L.Endlicher, Gen. Pl. 14: 1098 (1840). However, while Endlicher listed Colubrina excelsa A.Cunn. ex Fenzl. following his description of the genus Alphitonia he did not definitely associate the genus name and specific epithet as required under ICN Art. 35.2 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
