Etymology: "The specific epithet refers to the few-flowered inflorescence."

APC Comment: Conostylis aculeata and C. bracteata subsp. euryphipis hybridise freely with C. pauciflora. Conostylis pauciflora may be a stabilised hybrid of C. candicans subsp. calcicola and C. aculeata (S.D.Hopper et al., 1987). -
