Etymology: "Named after the Rev Colin Burgess and his son Peter Burgess, who recognised this species as distinct. After retiring from the clergy, Colin worked as a botanist at the Australian National Botanic Gardens, Canberra, for a number of years. Peter is a forester with the NSW Forestry Commission."
