Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Comment:Stafleu & Cowan, Tax. Lit. ed. 2, 1 (1976) 51 gives the author as "probably ... John Kennedy", but as there is no such indication in the work itself, Andrews has been accepted here as the author. Base name for Acacia longifolia (Andrews) Willd.; Mimosa macrostachya Poiret; Phyllodoce longifolia (Andrews) Link.
Text:"Andrews' plate was based on a specimen (apparently not preserved) gathered by White from a cultivated plant grown at Fulham near London from seeds forwarded from N.S.W. Accordingly, plate 207 is chosen as the lectotype."
