The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

APC Comment: A widespread taxon recorded as a "naturalized alien" by A.J.Ewart Vict. Naturalist 24: 192 (1908), but does not appear to have persisted as a naturalised plant in Australia.

Text: "This species was recorded for Vic. by A.J.Ewart (Victorian Naturalist 24: 192, 1908) on the basis of a specimen purportedly collected by C.Walter at the "Snowy River, 1904". There are no specimens at MEL supporting this record (or any other Poaceae collected by Walter from the Snowy R. area). There are numerous species reported by Ewart as naturalised or native members of the Victoria flora on meagre and/or dubious evidence (see under Poa nemoralis)."
