The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Etymology:"... is named after Walter Hill (1819–1904), a horticulturist and botanist in Queensland, who was with von Mueller when he collected the type material of S. [Seringia] hillii from the Glasshouse Mountains (Bentham 1863 [i.e. G.Bentham Sterculiaceae: Keraudrenia ‘Flora Australiensis. Vol. 1’. pp. 245–246.].
