Etymology:
"From the Latin denticulatus meaning ‘denticulate’ (Stearn 1983 [i.e. W.T.Stearn Botanical Latin new edn.(1983)]. Although this species mainly has a biserrate leaf margin, the specific epithet denticulata has been retained to recognise the original author’s naming of the variety."
