Etymology: "Named after Friedrich Ludwig Emil Diels (1874-1945), frmer director of the Berlin Botanic Garden, who collected many WA specimens with Ernst Pritzel during 1900 and 1901. together they published one of the major works on WA flora, Fragmenta Phytographiae Australiae Occidentalis (1904-1905)."
