Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Comment:Reference to basionym indirect, via Hoffmannsegg's inclusion of Acacia decipiens R.Br. in synonymy of this name (ICN Art. 41.3 (Shenzhen Code, 2018)), as "decipiens? Steud."

APC Comment:The name "Acacia decipiens (K.D.Koenig) R.Br." was cited in the Flora of Australia 11A: 498 (2001) as a misapplication to Acacia truncata by E.G.Steudel, Nomencl. Bot. 1:2 (1821). It is in fact an illegitimate superfluous recombination by Steudel, based on Koenig's illegitimate Mimosa decipiens and including Adiantum truncatum as a synonym. It should be cited as Acacia decipiens Steud., nom. illeg., nom. superfl.
