The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Text: “This plant from flowering specimens only was first placed in the genus Berchemia ; but from the fruit, now obtained, it is proved to be a genuine Ventilago.” -
Comment: Reference to basionym indirect, via Mueller's indication that the plant had previously been described as a member of the genus Berchemia, although without citation of the basionym or its place of publication.
-
Comment: Mueller lists "Berchermia ecorollata = Ventilago ecorollata ...". Since Berchermia ecorollata F.Muell. was previously accepted by Mueller on p. 60 of the Systematic Census (1882), Ventilago ecorollata F.Muell. is here treated as being a newly-accepted name in this Supplement.
