Acacia semibinervia Maiden & Blakely , legitimate, scientific
Maiden, J.H. & Blakely, W.F. (1927), Descriptions of fifteen new Acacia and notes on several other species. Journal and Proceedings of the Royal Society of New South Wales 60: 189, t. XVII [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "This species was raised from seed by a Mr. F. Drissel, Barling Cottage, Trant Road, Tunbridge Wells, England, and flowered 20th March (year not stated), and was sent to J. Smith Esq., Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, England, for identification. Its source of origin is unknown to us,"
Maslin, B.R. (9 July 2001), Wattle - Acacias of Australia: - [secondary reference]
  • Text: "Judging from the type collection this taxon seems to be a garden hybrid involving A. pravissima and A. vestita. It resembles the hybrids between A. kettlewelliae and A. pravissima as to phyllode shape and size, gland morphology and inflorescences but differs in its better-developed second longitudinal vein which does not intersect the gland. The A. boormanii x pravissima hybrids are also similar and differ from A. semibinervia in the same way, but in addition, their foliar glands are a little less pronounced."
Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria (31 July 2018), Australian Plant Census: - APC [secondary reference]
  • APC Comment: A name of uncertain application, but possibly referable to garden hybrids between Acacia pravissima F.Muell. ex Benth. and A. vestita Ker Gawl. (see B.R.Maslin in A.E.Orchard & A.J.G.Wilson (eds), Fl. Australia 11A: 332 (2001).
