The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Etymology:"Named after T. B. Wilson, MD (d.1844), author of Voyage round the World (1835) in which publication Allan Cunningham described this species."
Etymology:"The specific epithet honours Dr Thomas Braidwood Wilson who discovered the Denmark River in W.A. and who collected the seeds of this species and took them to Allan Cunningham.'
