Comment: In an earlier publication, C.H.Schultz, Bot. Zeit. 24: 165 (1866), lists Melampodium ruderale Sw. in synonymy under Eleutheranthera but does not definitely associate the genus name and specific epithet as required by ICN Art. 35.2 (Melbourne Code, 2012).
