Etymology:"The specific epithet refers to the smooth branches."
Comment:The designation "Acacia leioderma var. leioderma" is listed by FloraBase (2003). However, this autonym had not been established as no infraspecific taxa had been published within Acacia leioderma at the time (ICN Art. 26.3 (Shenzhen Code, 2018)).
