Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Text:"Included by Steetz (1845) [i.e. Steetz, J. Compositae. In: Lehmann, J.G.C. (ed.). Plantae Preissianae sive enumeratio plantarum, quas in Australasia occidentali et meridionalioccidentali annis 1830–1841 collegit Ludwig Preiss, pp. 417–490. (Hamburg) (1845).] under B. iberidifolia. Steetz indicated that it was certainly not different from that species and that he had seen a specimen under this name at B. The type was not seen by Bentham (1867) [i.e. Bentham, G. Brachycome Cass. In: Flora Australiensis: a description of the plants of the Australian territory 3: 508–521. (Lovell Reeve & Co.: London) (1867).].
Following Steetz I have also included it in synonymy under a broadly-defined B. iberidifolia."
