Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Type:"Kammgarnfabrik Derendingen bei Solothurm (australische Schafwolle), 1914, und vereinzelt unter Ch. carinatum R. Br., 1917, Probst!"
Comment:The name is given by Thellung as "var. (?) holopterum Thell. f. nov." and he also indicates that the taxon may represent a new species or a hybrid. Despite Thellung's expressions of doubt as to the correct rank, the name is here accepted as validly published at the rank of variety (see ICN Art. 36.1 (Melbourne Code, 2012)).
