  • APC Comment: Hybrids between E. coolabah and E. largiflorens are recorded (Hill & Johnson, 1994). A reputed hybrid E. camaldulensis x E. largiflorens is the basis for E. oxypoma Blakely (Pryor & Johnson, 1971; Chippendale, 1988). Hybrids are known in Qld between E. largiflorens and E. populnea (Henderson, 2002).

Qld Pl., Algae & Lichens 125 (2002)). A reputed hybrid between E. camaldulensis and E. largiflorens is the basis for E. oxypoma Blakely (L.D.Pryor & L.A.S.Johnson, A Classification of the Eucalypts 83 (1971)).

  • Etymology: From the Latin largus meaning 'abundant', and florens meaning 'blooming', referring to the plentiful flowers. The name is somewhat misleading as the flowers are relatively small and are not particularly showy.
