  • APC Comment: Chapman, APNI 685 (1991) recognised a "Cheilanthes tenuifolia var. sieberi Bailey", a later homonym of C. tenuifolia var. sieberi (Kunze) Hook.f. This name is a phantom. Bailey clearly stated that he only provided authorities for names down to species level. His name should be treated as just later usage of Hooker's combination.
