Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
×
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Acacia dunnii Turrill
, legitimate , scientific
Turrill, W.B. (1922) , Dunn's Wattle. Bulletin of Miscellaneous Information, Royal Gardens, Kew 1922(9) :
299
[tax. nov.]
Type:
"N.W. Australia. — From fissures in hard quartzite rock near Victoria River, Northern Territory ; flowers May, fruit June, 1922. E. J. Dunn ."
taxonomic synonym:
Acacia sericata var. dunnii Maiden
legitimate
Turrill cited Acacia sericata var. dunnii Maiden as a synonym with a full and direct reference to its place of publication when describing A. dunnii . However, as Turrill listed his taxon as "A. Dunnii, Turrill , sp. nov." this is here accepted as a new name at species rank rather than a new combination based on Acacia sericata var. dunnii Maiden, following L.Pedley, Austrobaileya 6(3): 462 (2003).
