Etymology: " The specific epithet is derived from the Latin disjunctus (disjunct, separated0. The reference is obscure and refers perhaps to disjunct localities which may have been known to Mueller or perhaps to the conflorescences scattered on the Type specimen, perhaps to the shape of the perianth, the limb of which appears disjointed.'
