The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Text:"Near Reedy Creek, east of Mudgee, where it was first found in 1858, but without fruit. Again found with only one old fruiting cone not far from Dubbo, by Rev. J. Milne Curran in 1883, who sent living plants to the Sydney Garden."
Comment:Moore makes no reference to a basionym but cites the same original material as that used as the basis for Macrozamia spiralis var. secunda, re-uses the epithet, and also provides a description. This is here treated as a new combination under Art. 41.4 (Shenzhen Code, 2018).
