Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

APC Comment:Chapman, APNI: 22 (1991) cited another name, Acacia biflora Paxton, nom. illeg., but this seems to be just a later use of A. biflora R.Br., not an attempt to create a new name.

APC Comment:A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 22 (1991) cites "Acacia biflora Paxton" as an illegitimate name, but this is a secondary reference and not an attempt by Paxton to publish a new name. A.D.Chapman, op. cit. 2010 (1991) stated that Poiret did not validly make the combination Mimosa biflora. However, under Article 33.1 of the 2006 (Vienna) edition of the ICBN, this name is considered to be validly published.
