  • Type: "So far it is known only from Western Australia. It has been found at Grasspatch, in sandy, loamy depressions around the salt lakes and saline flats, among other Mallees and small dense shrubs (C.A. Gardner, No. 1718, in field notes, No. 2218, on herbarium label, 23rd May, 1924)."
  • Etymology: "The species is named in honour of Miss Mary Merrick, who, in her capacity as librarian and stenographer, Botanic Gardens, Sydney, has been of very great help to us in our Eucalyptus work."
