The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Showing Amyema miraculosa var. melaleucae

Comment: nom. inval. Willis gives the authorship of this designation as "(Tate), indicates that it is a "comb. nov.", and also cites "[syn. Loranthus miraculosus, var. melaleucae Tate (1880)]". No bibliography is provided but this presumably is an indirect reference to Loranthus pendulus var. melaleucae (Lehm. ex Miq.) Tate (1880), itself based on Loranthus melaleucae Lehm. ex Miq. (1845). Since Willis does not provide a full and direct reference to the place of publication of the intended basionym, as required under ICN Art. 41.5 (Shenzhen Code, 2018), the new combination is not validly published.
