Rumicastrum eremaeum (Ewart) Carolin ex Hershk. , nom. illeg., nom. superfl., scientific
Hershkovitz, M.A. (21 September 2020), Rumicastrum Ulbrich (Montiaceae): a beautiful name for the Australian calandrinias. Phytologia 102(3): 119 [comb. nov.]
basionym: Calandrinia eremaea Ewart legitimate nomenclatural synonym: Calandrinia pusilla Lindl. nom. illeg. nomenclatural synonym: Parakeelya eremaea (Ewart) Hershk. nom. illeg., nom. superfl.
  • Comment: nom. illeg., nom. superfl. as the name Calandrinia pusilla Lindl., nom. illeg., had been replaced in 1879 by Claytonia pusilla F.Muell. The epithet pusillum was available in Rumicastrum in 2020 and thus ought to have been adopted by Hershkovitz (ICN Art. 11.4 (Shenzhen Code, 2018)).
  • Comment: Hershkovitz refers to an unpublished manuscript by Carolin and ascribes authorship of all new combinations in Rumicastrum from that manuscript to Carolin alone. The existence of Carolin's unpublished work is not regarded as constituting a contribution by Carolin to the present publication under ICN Art. 46.5 (Shenzhen Code, 2018), so authorship is here given as Carolin ex Hershk.
