Etymology: "The species epithet burungu was chosen in consultation with Eastern Kuku Yalanji Traditional Owners and is a name for the place where one of the populations is found. The epithet is a noun in apposition as outlined under ICN Art. 23.1 (Shenzhen Code, see Turland et al. 2018)."
