Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Comment:Christenhusz did not provide an etymology for this name but presumably the epithet "parrisii" is intended to honour Barbara Parris, the author of the replaced synonym. In this case, the correct epithet under ICN Art. 60.12 and Rec. 60C.1 (Melbourne Code, 2012) would be parrisiae, the spelling adopted here.
Comment:nom. nov., non Blechnum australe L. (1767).
