Flindersia ifflana F.Muell. , legitimate, scientific
Mueller, F.J.H. von (1877), Fragmenta Phytographiae Australiae 10(86): 94 [tax. nov.]
  • Type: "Ad oram Trinity-Bay; W. Hill."
  • Etymology: "Speciem grate dicavi praeclaro S. Iffla, M.D., scientiarum progressum apud nos avide sustinenti."
  • Comment: Mueller spelled the epithet "Ifflaiana", but since the name honours Dr Solomon Iffla (1820–1887) it is here corrected to "ifflana" under ICN Art. 60.12 and Rec. 60C.1 (Melbourne Code, 2012).
