The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. APC Comment:A.D.Chapman, Austral. Pl. Name Index 2447 (1991) stated that Poiret did not validly make this combination. However, under Article 33.1 of the 2006 (Vienna) edition of the ICBN, this name is considered to be validly published.
