The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Text: "A name used for one of two palm species observed by J.Lhotsky, Jour. Austral. Alps: 59 (1835), in the vicinity of Sydney. The other palm observed was Livistona australis (R.Br.) Mart., as Corypha australis R.Br. Seaforthia nobilis most likely refers to Archontophoenix cunninghamia (H.Wendl.) H.Wendl. & Drude, but cannot be nomenclaturally linked to that species."

APC Comment: A name of uncertain application, possibly referable to Archontophoenix cunninghamiana (H.Wendl.) H.Wendl. & Drude (see J.L.Dowe & D.L.Jones in A.Wilson (ed.), Fl. Australia 39: 210 (2011)).
