The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. Comment:“Caladenia bryceana R.S.Rogers subsp. bryceana" is listed by Anon., Endangered Species Protection Act 1992 Schedules 1, 2 & 3 6 (1998) and Briggs & Leigh, Rare or Threatened Australian Plants (1996), but since no varietal taxa had been validly published in Caladenia bryceana at the time, this autonym was not established.
APC Comment:The name "Caladenia bryceana subsp. bryceana" is listed by N.Hoffman & A.Brown, Orchids South-West Australia 2nd edn, 138 (1992); N.Hoffman & A.Brown, Orchids South-West Australia 2nd edn (rev.), 138 (1998) and by G.Paczkowska & A.R.Chapman, W. Austral. Fl. Desc. Cat. 76 (2000). However, this autonym did not exist until established by S.D.Hopper & A.P.Brown, Nuytsia 14(1/2): 197 (2001), in accordance with ICN Art. 26.3 (Melbourne Code, 2012).
