Type: New South Wales. North Coast District: Geebung LA, Whian Whian SF, N of Lismore, 19 Aug. 1975, Moriarty 1695 (holo: NSW; iso: BISH, BRI, CANB, L, QRS).

Etymology: Named for its glabrous leaves compared with those of the typical subspecies which are hairy to glabrescent on the abaxial side.
