The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Type: "19.6 km south of Caiguna on Baxter Memorial track, Western Australia, 27 August 1983, M.J. Fitzgerald B68 (holo: PERTH 00199664; iso: CANB, K)."
-
Etymology: "Specific epithet from the Latin carnosus (fleshy) with the diminutive adjectival suffix -ulus, in reference to the phyllodes."
-
APC Comment: L.Pedley, Austrobaileya 6(3): 455 (2003) inadvertently listed his new combination as "Racosperma carnulosum", citing the basionym as "Acacia carnulosa Maslin". Despite the orthographic error in the basionym and the epithet in Racosperma, this does not invalidate the combination (ICN Art. 41.6, Melbourne Code (2012)). Pedley's later correction in Austrobaileya 6(4): 985 (2004) is again listed as a comb. nov., but this is an isonym. -
