The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.

Type: "NEW SOUTH WALES: Central Coast: Nortons Basin, about 2.5 km NW of Wallacia, T.James 898, W.Bishop & C.Dunn [sic; correct collecting number for holotype is 889, fide Peter G.Wilson (NSW), pers. comm., 12 May 2021], 2.9.1987 (holo NSW; iso CANB)."
-
Etymology: "The epithet recalls the fact that this species has been generally but mistakenly known as E. beyeri R. Baker, and in turn commemorates George Beyer (1865–1920) of the former Sydney Technological Museum, who assisted RT. Baker." -
Text: "Since the type is thus apparently from a plant of hybrid origin, the name E. beyeri can no longer be applied in its widely-used sense, and a new name is required. The name E. beyeriana is chosen because it is sufficiently similar to the old name to minimise the effect of the change."
