Vascular Plants
Australian Plant Name Index (APNI)
The Australian Plant Name Index (APNI) is a tool for the botanical community that deals with plant names and their usage in the scientific literature, whether as a current name or synonym. APNI does not recommend any particular taxonomy or nomenclature. For a listing of currently accepted scientific names for the Australian vascular flora, please use the Australian Plant Census (APC) link above.
Comment:Anderberg & Haegi give the basionym as "Helichrysum viscosum Sieber ex De Candolle, Prodr. 6: 189. 1838.". However, the name published in the place cited is H. bracteatum var. viscosum and the citation constitutes a full and direct reference to the place of publication of the basionym as required under ICN Art. 41.5. The inclusion of an incorrect name is treated as a correctable error in basionym citation under ICN Art. 41.6 (Melbourne Code, 2012).
