Etymology: "Named for Keith A.W. Williams of Ipswich, Queensland. Keith is a keen naturalist and has made a significant contribution to botanical knowledge in Queensland via his collection of plant specimens (lodged at BRI) from all over the state. Since 1979 three volumes of his monumental 'Native Plants of Queensland' have been published and a fourth is in press."
